Bryant’s Breakfast

Started the day with a hearty breakfast at Bryant’s Breakfast on Summer Avenue, known as the “Best Biscuits in Memphis”. I went with The Sampler, a heaping plate of comfort food.

Stax Museum

Full up on biscuits, and a quick photo stop at Aretha Franklin’s Birthplace, I headed over to Soulville to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. Home of Stax Records where classic artists Carla Thomas, the Mar-Keys, Booker T. and The MGs, Rufus Thomas, William Bell, Sam and Dave, and Otis Redding recorded. At a very reasonable price of $13, I wandered around for a couple of hours taking in the history in the almost empty museum and grabbing quite a few photos along the way.
