I was looking forward to the Mojo Tour as the tour guide was also a local musician. In addition to touring the city sites, he played many of the classic hits along the way. It was fun complete with sing-alongs. Certainly a unique twist on the usual tour.
Biscuits & Beats: A Taste of Memphis Magic
Started the day with a hearty breakfast at Bryant’s Breakfast on Summer Avenue, known as the “Best Biscuits in Memphis”. I went with The Sampler, a heaping plate of comfort food.
Memphis Blues & BBQ: Marlow’s to the Beale Street Beat
My first night in Memphis, Tennessee. Marlowe’s BBQ and Beale Street.
Ice, Ice, Tampa: 2023 Frozen Four College Hockey Showdown
The championship game between Minnesota and Quinnipiac (I now know how to spell that)
Visit to Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs
Awaiting the Frozen Four Championship game in the evening, Devyn and I visited Tarpon, (not Tampon) for lunch and some shopping. Devyn was in search of some soap for his mother, I was in search of coffee and lunch. I became fascinated with the Small Fizz Balls, which weren’t all that small.
Rays vs. Athletics: Bay Area Showdown
After a day at Busch Gardens, Devyn and I headed to see a baseball game, a Frozen Four tradition as it always falls on the first week of baseball season. Assuming they are home that week.
Eye of the Tiger: Stripes in the Sunshine at Busch Gardens Tampa
For our Friday “down day” we drove over to Busch Gardens for the day. After breakfast, at the Three Coin Diner we headed over to pay the low, low price of $130 per person to partake in the day’s festivities.
