Up at 5 AM to head to Lake Placid the Total Solar Eclipse to beat the NYC and Jersey traffic. That and to ensure I had a prime parking spot in the middle of town. Mission accomplished.

Spent the day touristing and of course shopping.

Initially, I considered driving out the Buffalo way for the eclipse, but I’m glad I didn’t as I heard the weather sucked for it. However, it did take me Buffalo time to get home – 6 Hours (avg speed 25mph) with NO bathroom breaks. The rest areas were a zoo.
Fortunately, I was equipped with dinner, snacks and a full tank of gas for the haul.
